Correcting The Misinformation In Today’s Australian

In an article in today’s Australian, Imre Salusinszky made the implication that a rule change by the NSW Division was triggered by the publication in the media of some comments made on this site earlier this year.

There is one slight problem with this line of reasoning: it would require State Executive to possess either a time-machine or psychic powers if it were true.

The rule change on online comment was presented to State Executive, and was approved, in February. I repeat, February. I had extensive discussions with members of state executive at the time about this. Thus, if we accept rather conventional wisdom about the space-time continuum, it is is totally, absolutely, and utterly  impossible for the rule change to have been triggered by this blog.

Yes, there was a change made the other day – codifying these rules in the constitution so people could actually be able to read them. This was something that was ALWAYS going to be done. Everyone knew it was going to be done. And to spread comments that it has something to do with my blog are simply flat out wrong.

It does, however, raise the obvious question of who decided to tell Imre this, and their rational behind doing so. I’ll leave that one up to you to decide…

    Wow, super fail.

Personally I think there should be a great deal more online discussion of internal Party matters.

Speaking of which, what’s the deal with the ACT Division not releasing preselection results? Crazy.

Do you really think it was some malevolent individual leaking this leak to Imre? Seems more likely that Imre went, oh yes I remember that story, oh yes looks like NSW has changed rules. DING DING DING CONNECTION!

  2. Ben Raue Says:

Imre Saluzinsky is full of shit. Most of the stuff he writes about the Greens shows he’s never actually spoken to a Greens member. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same applies to most of his Liberal commentary.

  3. Tim Andrews Says:

I don’t think it’s fair to blame Imre, he was simply reporting the information he was given. And it’s always fun to mention a blog like mine. So I really don’t think it’s fair to attack him on this.

  4. John Humphreys Says:

Bah, you conservatives and your out-dated notion of the space-time continuum. If you elect me to parliament, I promise to change the space-time continuum. And repeal the law of gravity. It’s coercive.
